Lawn Equipment Repair Technician
Location: Valparaiso

OVERVIEW
Heinold & Feller Tire & Lawn Equipment is looking for an experienced lawn equipment repair technician to join our team. We provide ASE Master Certified full service auto repair on all makes and models of vehicles. We also sell and service tires, outdoor power and lawn equipment, UTV’s and go-karts.
The right candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues; aiming for maximum reliability and functionality.
We are seeking someone who is well-versed in small engine repair with excellent problem-solving abilities.
You will be working with other top performing technicians in a clean and professional environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience as a small engine mechanic with 2 cycle engine experience.
Ability to read and understand wiring schematics as well as a clear understanding of parts schematics.
Ownership of mechanical set of tools; some diagnostic and specialty tools will be supplied.
Team player mentality with the ability to share and respect other mechanics workspace.
Excellent physical condition with the ability to stand all day and lift 80 lbs.
Valid driver’s license required.
Hours are Monday – Saturday, 8am – 6pm
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose 12 volt electrical systems.
Ability to perform advanced diagnostics of internal small engine failures.
Lawn Driver Porter
Location: Valparaiso

OVERVIEW
Heinold & Feller Tire & Lawn Equipment is looking for a Lawn Porter to join our team.
The right candidate will work directly with customers to deliver and demonstrate our riding lawn mowers.
We are seeking someone who is reliable, dependable, and detail oriented. We need someone with a strong work ethic who can professionally represent the Heinold & Feller brand off-site.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone just entering the workforce; a high school degree is preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Need to be able to keep up to date in the lawn equipment industry through online training modules.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to keep paperwork current daily.
- Professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Dependable, reliable employee with a team player mentality.
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction or supervision.
- Must care about the customer and the customer’s satisfaction and safety.
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Hours are Monday – Friday with Saturday hours.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pull a trailer, handle the movement of equipment and riding lawn mowers.
- Set up and service new and used lawn equipment.
- Demonstrate delivered products to customers and ensure customers know how they work.
- Provide timely service and great communication with a high level of integrity in a fast paced environment.
Mechanic

The right candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues; aiming for maximum reliability and functionality.
We are seeking someone who is well-versed in automotive mechanical systems of vehicles with excellent problem-solving abilities.
You will be working with other top performing technicians in a clean and professional environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic.
- Automotive Mechanic, Service Technician, Master, Certified, Lube Tech, Level A, B, C, Apprentice, etc. experience is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical components of vehicles.
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment lifts and air conditioning equipment.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Excellent physical condition.
- High school diploma is preferred; certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus. We will get you certified if you qualify.
- Hours are Monday – Friday with Saturday availability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough, multi-point inspection of each vehicle.
- Accurately code, log, and report items that require attention.
- Diagnose, maintain, repair and/or replace vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Align vehicles or have an understanding for alignment training.
- Test drive vehicles and test components using state of the art diagnostic tools.
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on proper vehicle use.
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
